NewsletterLifeSharers Members
Newsletter MEMBERSHIP UPDATE As of October 31, 2008:
Please let us know if you are on the United Network for Organ Sharing waiting list for an organ. We will make available to relatives of deceased members the names of LifeSharers members who have qualified for preferred access to their loved one’s organs. Please tell your friends, family, and colleagues about LifeSharers. Every new member decreases the chance you’ll die waiting for an organ. Membership is free and open to all at http://www.lifesharers.org or by calling 1-888-ORGAN88. HAVE YOU TOLD YOUR DOCTORS ABOUT LIFESHARERS? The membership materials given to all new LifeSharers members include a letter you can send to your doctors. The letter explains that you want to be an organ donor and that you want to offer your organs first to other LifeSharers members. It asks your doctor to help make sure that your wishes are carried out. If you haven’t already done so, please send this letter to your doctors. Your wishes are more likely to be carried out if your doctor knows about them. You can download additional copies of your LifeSharers membership materials at http://www.lifesharers.org/packet.doc or http://www.lifesharers.org/packet.pdf. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS LifeSharers has public service announcements available for radio in 30-second and 60-second formats. We’ve just added versions with background music. You can listen to the PSAs, and read the scripts, at http://www.lifesharers.org/psa.htm. We’re very grateful to B.Z., a famous voice actor, for recording and producing our public service announcements. Check him out at www.vocalizm.com and BZ.voices.com. We’d appreciate your help in distributing these PSAs. Please call your local radio station and ask for the email address where you can send public service announcements. Then send them the following email: Subject: Public Service Announcements I represent LifeSharers, a 501(c)(3) network of organ donors. Our mission is to save lives by increasing the number of registered organ donors. We would appreciate it if you could air our public service announcements. Scripts and sound files for 30-second and 60-second PSAs are available at http://www.lifesharers.org/psa.htm.
